About Me

Approach to Therapy

I am an engaged and genuine therapist. I will give you feedback and actionable tools to help you navigate life’s challenges and increase resilience, insight and self-compassion. I use evidence-based interventions such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), motivational interviewing, executive functioning coaching, and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT). For couples therapy, I use the renowned and evidence-based Gottman Method.

I provide a supportive, non-judgmental and warm environment for therapy and use a trauma-informed and attachment-based lens to understand my clients better. I use a client-centered approach, meaning sessions can be free flowing and verbal processing or structured and focused on skill building based on your personal needs.

If you’re interested in working with me, get in touch or schedule a free phone consultation directly through Alma.

I believe a good therapist-client fit is essential for outcomes, to learn a little more about different therapeutic approaches, check out my blog post on finding the right therapist.

You may not be a good fit for therapy with me if:

You are experiencing symptoms that require a higher level of care, this includes active suicidal ideations, schizophrenia and related disorders, eating disorders, hallucinations, active substance abuse or active thoughts of violence. For these symptoms, I highly recommend seeking out treatment at an inpatient or structured outpatient program FIRST before starting psychotherapy. You can learn more about these programs here.
